Overview

As a critical member of the Data Center Engineering Operations team, this role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data center infrastructure. The successful candidate will be tasked with identifying and mitigating potential risks, conducting corrective and preventative maintenance on critical systems, managing vendor relationships, and generating key performance metrics.

This is a 6-month fixed-term position, with opportunities to transition into a full-time role upon completion. If you are a highly motivated individual with a passion for facilities management, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors to ensure all work performed aligns with established best practices and local regulations.
  • Maintain and analyze performance benchmarks to provide insights into critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  • Generate Change Management requests and Incident Management tickets as directed by DCEO.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of relevant documentation related to business and facility operations.
  • Assist with the installation of racks and provision of power/cooling within constraints.
  • Participate in routine maintenance and emergency services for various critical systems, including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, commissioning, and build-out of new facilities.
  • Manage facility assets and provide infrastructure and inventory asset management as directed.
  • Attend Construction and Operational Meetings as required.
  • Review Work Order compliance and contractual SLAs.
  • Interface with Infra Ops teams for daily operational requirements.
  • Resolve infrastructure engineering or services issues.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
  • Meet daily hours of operations, shift, and on-call requirements during shift rotations.
Qualifications
  • This position involves a physical component requiring the ability to lift rack equipment; it may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Interest in maintaining a data center or critical space facility.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership and organizational skills.
  • Facilities management mindset.
  • Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Physical security protocol awareness.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with Office Suite.
  • Degree or Technical (Military/Trade School) Degree Cert III and relevant experience.
  • Data center engineering/operations experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline.
