Leading Laboratory Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Operations Supervisor to lead our laboratory operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a laboratory environment within the concrete or quarrying industry, with strong knowledge of aggregate and concrete testing procedures and standards.
Responsibilities:- Oversee day-to-day operations of the laboratory
- Supervise and mentor lab technicians and quality control staff
- Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards (e.g. AS 1012, AS 1141) and internal QA/QC protocols
- Coordinate sampling, testing, and reporting for aggregates, concrete, and other raw materials
- Conduct investigations into non-conforming products and provide technical support to operational teams
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure test accuracy
- Analyse and report on test results, identifying trends and recommending improvements
- Liaise with operations, technical, and sales teams to support product development and customer requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a laboratory environment within the concrete or quarrying industry
- Strong understanding of aggregate and concrete testing procedures and standards
- Prior experience supervising or leading a small technical or laboratory team
- High attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing and documentation
- Competence in using laboratory systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Certificate IV or higher in Laboratory Techniques, Construction Materials Testing, or a related field (preferred)
- Knowledge of NATA accreditation processes (desirable)
- Stable, long-term role
- Ongoing professional development and technical training
