About the RoleWe are seeking an Associate - Employment & Labour to join our Melbourne team, working closely with Partners and lawyers on various litigious and non-litigious employment and WHS matters. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across the public and private sectors, advising employers on complex employment and WHS issues.
Key Responsibilities- Advise on WHS and employment legal compliance, including representation in defence of prosecutions and internal/external review of enforcement notices.
- Represent employers in regulatory investigations and unfair dismissal, discrimination, and general protections claims.
- Advise on industrial relations matters, including right of entry, disputes, enterprise bargaining, and industrial action.
- Manage employee disciplinary and performance issues, as well as psychosocial health, workplace bullying, discrimination, and sexual harassment matters.
- A minimum of 3 years PQE working within a reputable employment law practice.
- Experience working across contentious and non-contentious employment matters, with a focus on WHS.
- Excellent written, drafting, and verbal communication skills, with confidence in dealing directly with clients and collaborating across teams.
