This position requires a Special Needs Education Assistant who will work collaboratively with teaching staff to deliver planned education programs and promote a supportive and inclusive learning environment. The successful applicant will have effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with students with special needs, parents, and teaching professionals.
The role involves assisting teaching staff in implementing educational programs, including special education and therapy programs, as well as participating in the evaluation process relating to student progress. The successful applicant will also have the ability to assist with general health and wellbeing of students, possess knowledge of a range of evidence-based techniques for learning and behaviour, and have experience or knowledge of disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Key Selection Criteria- Effective Communication Skills: The ability to interact with students with special needs, parents, and teaching professionals, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Interpersonal Skills: The ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, students, and parents, fostering strong relationships and promoting a sense of community.
- Organisational Skills: The ability to assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs, providing feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists as required.
- Knowledge of Disabilities: Experience or knowledge of disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with the ability to apply evidence-based techniques for learning and behaviour.
