About the Role

As an Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting the educational needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

You will provide assistance to teachers, parents, and the community in developing culturally responsive educational programs that meet the needs of our students.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing pastoral care and mentoring to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
  • Assisting teachers in implementing educational programs that incorporate Aboriginal culture and language
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with local communities and stakeholders
  • Contributing to school-level teams and providing multicultural direction in education program development

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and history
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to culturally responsive education programs

Salary and Benefits

This is a full-time position, attracting a salary of approximately $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
