Attendance and Engagement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Attendance and Engagement Specialist to join our team at the Department of Education, Western Australia.
About the Role:
The Attendance and Engagement Specialist will play a critical role in supporting and leading the effective implementation of procedures and processes in schools to ensure non-attending and alienated students participate and are engaged in educational programs.
The successful candidate will provide advice and support to School Based Attendance Officers (SBAOs) regarding home visits, policies and procedures within a school-based context. They will also implement and manage system level initiatives relating to attendance at regional level in addition to monitoring and contributing to the management of school attendance strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and support to SBAOs on home visits, policies and procedures.
- Implement and manage system level initiatives to improve attendance.
- Monitor and contribute to the management of school attendance strategies.
- Facilitate collaboration with Principals, SBAOs, school psychologists and participation staff on appropriate placement of non-attending and alienated students.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- A current Working with Children Check.
- A National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
