About the Area

The Rural Clinical School of Western Australia was established in 2002 to improve health outcomes for people living in country WA. Our vision is to build on our successes and foster a locally trained, research-driven, collegiate academic community, providing equitable healthcare to rural and remote WA.

The school helps rural communities sustain a locally trained and loyal medical workforce by placing penultimate and final year medical students across a network of 15 sites. Students gain valuable hands-on experience and professional mentoring throughout the 12-month program.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Medical Practitioner;
  • A commitment to working in medical practice in rural WA;
  • Experience as a preceptor and/or supervisor of medical students and/or junior doctors or registrars;
  • A commitment to the principles and practice of Indigenous health in rural and regional areas.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of rural Australians and contribute to the growth and development of our medical workforce. If you are passionate about rural health and education, we encourage you to apply.
