Role Overview

The Ministry of Justice has a significant portfolio of leased properties, contributing to our purpose of strengthening people's trust in the law.

This role involves managing leased properties, negotiating lease terms, and maintaining relationships with landlords, tenants, and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring our leased assets are well-managed, compliant, and aligned with the Ministry's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing leased properties, including negotiation of lease terms and maintenance of relationships with landlords, tenants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that leased assets are well-managed, compliant, and aligned with the Ministry's strategic goals.
  • Providing financial oversight and ensuring that leased assets are utilized effectively.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and 2+ years' experience in commercial property management and leasing or equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to identify risks and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders throughout the lease lifecycle.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, combined with a strategic approach to problem-solving and issue resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing client and tenant relationships.
  • Strong background in lease negotiation, administration, and overall lease lifecycle management.
  • Skilled in budget preparation and management, with the capability to conduct detailed financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word.
