Job Summary

D'Arcy Weil is seeking a highly skilled Project Development Manager - Wind Energy to lead the development and execution of utility-scale wind energy projects across Australia. The successful candidate will play a key role in guiding projects from conception through to completion, ensuring that all initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including site selection, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and risk management plans to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to refine project designs and optimize performance.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, contractors, and other key partners.
  • Liaise with financial teams to structure project financing and ensure economic viability.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary project team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Represent the organization in stakeholder meetings, public consultations, and industry events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years' experience in managing large-scale wind energy projects, with a focus on utility-scale developments.
  • Proven expertise in the Australian energy market, including grid connection processes and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong background in site acquisition, environmental approvals, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, from early-stage development through to construction and commissioning.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a focus on budgeting, scheduling, and risk mitigation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence at all levels.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy financing, including PPA negotiations and investment structuring.
  • Current Australian working rights are required; sponsorship is not available.
