Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of utility-grade solar projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Oversee site selection, land acquisition, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of regulatory approval applications.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to conduct feasibility studies and financial modelling.
  • Build and maintain relationships with landowners, local communities, and government agencies.
  • Prepare detailed project plans, budgets, and timelines, ensuring adherence to these throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive project innovation to optimise efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and environmental sustainability.
  • Monitor project progress, identifying and mitigating risks and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Lead contract negotiations and manage vendor and contractor relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to secure Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and other revenue streams.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting the solar sector.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • At least 7 years of experience in utility-scale solar project development within Australia.
  • Demonstrated success in managing the full project lifecycle of large-scale solar projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian regulatory frameworks and the approvals process for solar projects.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and financial modelling software.
  • Solid understanding of solar technologies, grid connection processes, and energy market dynamics.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Current Australian working rights (no sponsorship offered for this position).
