Key Responsibilities
  • Project Development: Lead the development of large-scale BESS projects, overseeing all stages from site identification to project delivery.
  • Site Assessment and Feasibility: Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and due diligence to identify suitable locations for BESS projects.
  • Project Management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with engineering, legal, finance, and regulatory teams to secure necessary approvals and permits, and liaise with landowners, local communities, and government authorities to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Financial Management: Prepare and manage project development budgets, ensuring cost control and optimisation.
  • Project Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, tracking progress and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
  • Financial Modelling: Oversee the preparation of financial models and business cases to support project investment decisions.
  • Grid Connection: Collaborate with grid connection teams to ensure seamless integration of BESS projects into the grid.
  • Risk Management: Monitor and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans to address potential issues.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present project updates to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Team Leadership: Lead project teams, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in project development within the renewable energy sector, particularly in BESS or similar technologies.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Australian energy market, including regulatory and grid connection requirements.
  • Project Management: Excellent project management skills, with proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Financial Modelling: Knowledge of financial modelling and business case development for energy projects.
  • Contract Negotiation: Experience in contract negotiation and management.
  • Eligibility: Eligibility to work in Australia is essential.
