We are seeking a part-time ongoing Support Worker to work on Mondays and Fridays in Hamilton North or Newcastle. This role will involve assisting customers to maintain and develop their independence to lead an enriching and fulfilling life.

About the Role
  • This position will be a part of the Social Activity Group.

The key focus of this role will be to work alongside older people while they participate in a range of activities to enable their identified needs and goals to be fulfilled. You will facilitate their access and participation in their community.

You will regularly work alongside one other Support Worker to engage with the clients in groups, on outings, and as they challenge their minds in a variety of activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with clients in groups, on outings, and in various activities.
  • Facilitate clients' access and participation in their community.
Requirements
  • Experience working with older adults.
  • Certificate III (Aged Care, Community Support) or greater (or a commitment to complete within 12 months of commencing in the position).
  • A proven ability to communicate effectively.
  • The ability to follow and implement individual service plans, healthcare, and positive behaviour support plans.
  • A desire to use your skills and experience creating fun and interesting activities that support older adults to engage more consistently with their community and peers.
  • A positive and energetic approach to engaging with your team and clients.
  • A valid driver's licence.
