Graduate Position Opportunity

The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency has a 12-month rotational employment program for graduates in the social services sector. The role involves working cooperatively with the agency to deliver high-quality, culturally appropriate services to children, families, and carers.

About the Role:

  • This is an excellent opportunity for graduates to gain comprehensive experience in community and social services, supported by the agency's commitment to excellence and professional growth.
  • The graduate will have the chance to work in various service areas, including direct client-facing casework skills by shadowing casework staff.
  • A dedicated team of professionals will provide effective supervision and cultural mentorship throughout the program.
  • The position includes a structured rotation across different programs, providing a broad understanding of the various roles and community service work within the sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop client-facing casework skills through hands-on experience across various services.
  • Work collaboratively with casework staff to provide better outcomes for children, families, and carers.
  • Participate in weekly professional development sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the agency's goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable).
  • Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain).
  • Victorian Driver Licence.
  • Ability to engage vulnerable children, young people, their families, and their carers in outreach work activities.
