About this role:

As Data Governance Manager at Cuscal, you will lead the data risk management and data governance function. This role is crucial in ensuring data risks are effectively identified, assessed, managed and monitored across the organization, in line with regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of the Data and Data Risk Management Roadmap, Work Plan to implement data management principles.
  • Collaborate with product domains and corporate functions to embed data risk management principles and minimum requirements into day-to-day business activities.
  • Prepare regular updates for review highlighting key risk areas and recommendations for reporting at various committees.
  • Facilitate workshops to ensure critical data elements are identified, understood with business lineage, have quality requirements defined, have risks and controls assessed, and data issues managed, reported and resolved.
  • Perform 1LoD data risk management supporting teams with risk identification, assessment, incident and issue management, controls implementation and vendor risk assessment.
  • Act as change champion and SME for Data Owners and Data Stewards.
  • Support the rollout and adoption of the data governance tool to product domains and corporate functions.

Requirements:

  • Financial Services Experience: 5+ years of experience in data risk management and data governance.
  • Risk Frameworks: Strong knowledge of data capability management frameworks such as DAMA / EDM's Data Management Capability Assessment Model and APRA Prudential requirements.

Desirable skills:

  • Emerging Technologies: Demonstrated experience in managing risks associated with artificial intelligence, machine learning and other emerging technologies.
  • Proven Change Leader: Prior experience establishing, embedding and uplifting data risk management maturity and practices within a function, risk class or organization.
