At Firesoft People, we're seeking a Data Governance Strategist to drive our data governance strategy forward. As the Data Governance Strategist, you will partner with enterprise-wide leaders to develop and establish data governance standards, build healthy cultures to raise awareness and responsibility concerning data governance, and coordinate information and data between departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a data governance strategy that aligns with our business objectives
  • Facilitate enterprise-wide adoption and alignment of critical data governance deliverables between consumers and providers
  • Facilitate master data management workshops and maintain the Enterprise Business Data Model (EBDM)
  • Support Information, Technology and Security Risk Committee (ITSRC) objectives
  • Coordinate the process for the proposal and ratification of Authority and Data Ownership
  • Maintain enterprise compliance to Australian Prudential Regulation CPG235 Managing Data Risk
  • Build a Data Analyst Community encouraging collaboration, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional support on upcoming analytics initiatives

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a governance role, with 2 years in financial services
  • Understanding of the challenges and benefits of implementing a data governance and/or quality program
  • Experience working with APRA banking or financial standards
  • Understanding of data repository systems (DWH and operational systems) and proven management/supervisory experience of leading a team of 3-5 people
