We are seeking an experienced Intensivist Specialist to join our dynamic team at Mackay Base Hospital.

The Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled Intensivist Specialist to work in the Intensive Care Unit. You will be responsible for managing and providing high-quality care to adult and paediatric patients with diverse, challenging, and rewarding case mixes.

Responsibilities

  • Exposure to varied case mix in regional ICU working with dynamic, supportive, and friendly team including intensive care trainees.
  • Manage and provide care to adult and paediatric patients in the ICU, ensuring excellent patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with local specialists, including paediatricians and tertiary PICU specialists in Townsville, to ensure comprehensive care for paediatric patients.
  • Work effectively within a well-resourced medical and nursing workforce to manage complex cases, including trauma, interventional cardiology, general surgery, infectious diseases, tropical, and complex medical presentations.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must be registered as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and hold Fellowship of College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (FCICM) or equivalent as overseas trained specialist who has completed training in UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, or New Zealand.
