The Department of Medicine at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking a General Physician - Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist to join their team on a Permanent Full-Time basis.

Mackay Hospital and Health Service, located in tropical North Queensland, serves a population of over 180,000. The Mackay Isaac Whitsunday Region boasts a diverse economy including tourism, agriculture, industry, mining, education, and health sectors.

The Department of General Medicine manages patients with a wide range of active co-morbidities or undifferentiated illnesses for patients over 16 years old, requiring ongoing inpatient and outpatient care. We are a busy inpatient service with consultation responsibilities.

Salary Information (L18 – L24, L25 – L27):

  • Total remuneration of up to $483,619 (L24), with a salary range of $210,332 - $244,313.
    • Total remuneration of up to $528,464 (L27), with a salary range of $251,527 - $266,677.
