Transport Operations Manager

The Transport Supervisor will oversee the transportation section of the Transport and Logistics Department, ensuring efficient distribution services to personnel and managing the movement and transportation of goods. This role requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as knowledge of transport regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a team of transport specialists, including day and shift workers, and coordinate shift coverages due to personnel absences or site events.
- Create and manage bus rosters, covering all required runs, including alternating schedules for public holidays and other instances as needed.
- Coordinate transport requirements for special events and prepare loads for transportation within regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct basic pre-inspections of vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy and report any faults to the transport supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with all site environmental, health, and safety requirements and maintain tracking of licenses and endorsements for all site employees.
- Maintain vehicles in a clean and presentable condition, ensuring registration and insurance requirements are met.
- Maintain records of registration and insurance for all vehicles and promote a safety-focused culture within the workplace.
- Certificate in Logistics/Transport Operations
- Current Driver's License
- Forklift License
- H Endorsement
- HR License
- Experience in transportation roles, leadership, and management, as well as knowledge of transport regulations.
- The position is desk-based and sedentary in nature, with occasional lifting of items up to 5kgs.
- Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 10kgs, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting, and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Able to fluently read, write, and speak English.
- Australian or US citizen.
