The Technical Director - Operational Readiness will be responsible for implementing processes, controls, and resources to win and deliver work in line with expected safety, quality, and value for clients and SYSTRA Scott Lister. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership advice to clients and internal stakeholders across complex rail digital systems projects.
  • Interface with clients to set and manage expectations, maintaining satisfactory performance and delivery levels.
  • Support business changes to Rail Operators' operating and maintenance processes/systems due to introducing ETCS, ATO, CBTC, and/or TMS technologies.
  • Identify and update operations systems, processes, and standards impacted by transitioning to digital train control systems.
  • Maximise benefits through development process, performing change impact assessments, risk analysis, and treatment.
  • Provide operations functions inputs/requirements to the concept of operations and address cross-functional safety, operations, and maintenance requirements.
  • Integrate changes to safety, operating, maintenance, and business models, processes, and systems.
  • Resolve conflicts within the project to the satisfaction of the client and business.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's level qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience.
  • 15+ years' experience in rail operations, maintenance, and safety, including experience supporting rail infrastructure operating organisations' transition to digital train control systems.
  • Primary capability in railways signalling and control systems, with desirable experience in systems engineering integration.
  • Demonstrate sound leadership skills, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, conflict resolution, and professional presentation abilities.
