**Terminal Operations Manager Role Overview**

The Terminal Operations Manager is responsible for optimizing the use of resources and skills to meet key business outcomes. They will oversee rostering, leave management, and skill availability to drive terminal productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure sufficient staff with appropriate skills are available to cover operational needs.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on labour efficiency through expenditure analysis and workforce planning.
  • Manage leave and absences, making recommendations on rostering improvements.
  • Liaise and provide constructive advice to leadership regarding efficient staff deployment within operational constraints.
  • Ensure payroll system accurately reflects work done and various leave accruals.
  • Ensure rostering practices comply with relevant EBA work rules and requirements.
  • Manage disciplinary matters related to availability and absences.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Formal qualifications in transport and logistics or similar fields.
  • Previous experience or knowledge in maritime/marine/stevedoring, material handling, logistics, and/or transport operations.
  • Experience with SN4, Microster, BI, and other operating systems.
  • Experience in implementation and testing of terminal operating systems.
  • Ability to interpret Enterprise Agreements and relevant Awards.
  • Effective customer service, oral and written communication skills, as well as planning and organizing skills.
