
Terminal Manager

Main Purpose:
Puma Energy Bitumen has a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual to lead the team at our Altona Bitumen Facility, a Puma-owned and operated manufacturing plant.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient operations, including but not limited to:
- Managing supply and manufacturing operations
- Balancing maintenance and capital works while meeting operational and customer needs
- Controlling operational expenditure
- Leading the implementation of operational improvements
This position is ideal for someone looking to enhance their leadership and commercial skills in a dynamic environment.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Key Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage production schedules aligned with forecasts and facility capacity, adjusting plans as needed.
- Oversee daily operations, optimize throughput, monitor stock levels, and resolve disruptions.
- Promote a safety-first culture by implementing HSSE protocols and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
- Supervise equipment and maintenance processes, ensuring safety and environmental standards are met.
- Manage budgets, track expenditures, identify cost-saving measures, and report financially to stakeholders.
- Plan, execute, and close projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Implement quality management systems and support root-cause analyses to prevent issues.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, internal teams, and third-party operators.
Ideal Candidate:
- Has tertiary education in Engineering or holds Trade Certification
- Has at least 5 years' experience in hazardous industrial plants, manufacturing, or petroleum industries
- Embeds health and safety in decision-making
- Is a resilient, confident leader who remains solution-oriented under stress
- Is proactive, energetic, and action-driven
- Communicates effectively with stakeholders and possesses strong commercial acumen
- Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills, especially with processing equipment
- Motivates and collaborates well with others
- Is available for on-call duties and national travel if required
