Emergency Department Physiotherapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapist to join our team in the Emergency Department. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in providing timely and effective physiotherapy services to patients with complex and comorbid conditions.
Job SummaryThe purpose of this role is to prevent hospital admissions from the Emergency Department and facilitate early discharges through timely allied health intervention. You will work closely with medical and nursing teams to provide expert physiotherapy care and support patients with challenging conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical experience in physiotherapy, with substantial experience working in the emergency department and/or as a primary contact practitioner treating challenging patients with chronic and complex conditions.
- Extensive postgraduate clinical experience in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and demonstrated core competency skills in Cardiorespiratory, orthopaedic, gerontology, and Neurological Physiotherapy.
- Excellent negotiation, decision-making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders throughout all organisational levels.
- Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
- Demonstrated experience in staff supervision and teaching and clinical supervision and teaching of undergraduate/graduate entry level students.
