Senior Data Protection Specialist

At Axiom, we are seeking a seasoned data protection specialist to provide expert legal counsel on privacy and data protection matters. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth expertise with the Australian Privacy Act, a proven track record in negotiating data processing agreements (DPAs), and outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to delivering robust support on privacy and data protection issues. You will be responsible for facilitating understanding and adherence to Australian privacy laws, developing and assessing commercial agreements, creating privacy policies, consent forms, and compliance documentation.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver expert legal counsel on privacy and data protection issues.
  • Facilitate understanding and adherence to Australian privacy laws.
  • Develop and assess commercial agreements that include information law clauses.
  • Create privacy policies, consent forms, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications:
  • Over 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in drafting and negotiating comprehensive data privacy and data processing agreements.
  • In-depth understanding of privacy law, specifically the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and related regulations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to communicate complex information effectively.
