Protecting life, property and the environment is a challenging and rewarding role that requires dedication and commitment.

The On-Call Firefighter will work within a team to provide service to their community, responding to emergency incidents, attending training sessions and community safety activities. The role involves working from a local Fire Station and requires living and/or working within a reasonable distance of the station.

To be successful in this role, you must possess strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You should also have valid NSW Driver's Licence (minimum P1), Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency and live and/or work within a reasonable distance of the FRNSW Fire Station.

As an On-Call Firefighter, you will play a critical part in protecting people, property and the environment in your local area. With ongoing training and development, you will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to handle a wide range of situations.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency incidents, including fires, motor vehicle accidents and chemical hazards
  • Attend training sessions and community safety activities
  • Work collaboratively with other emergency services, including NSW Ambulance, NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW Police
  • Participate in community education and engagement activities

Essential Requirements

  • Valid NSW Driver's Licence (minimum P1)
  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency
  • Live and/or work within a reasonable distance of the FRNSW Fire Station
