Legal Expert for Construction Projects

We are seeking an experienced Legal Expert to lead our construction projects. This is a challenging role that requires expertise in reviewing, advising on, negotiating and drafting contracts.

About the Role
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction law, including knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices.
  • This individual will be responsible for reviewing contracts, providing legal advice to clients, and drafting pleadings and affidavits for litigated construction claims.
  • Additionally, they will assist with the development of adjudication materials, brief technical experts, and liaise with clients regarding contract administration and management.
  • The successful candidate will also manage more junior staff and provide guidance and support as needed.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Review and advise on contracts, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  2. Provide expert advice to clients on their rights under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999.
  3. Draft pleadings and affidavits for litigated construction claims, and brief technical experts to provide expert testimony.
  4. Liaise with clients to manage their contracts and claims, and provide guidance and support to junior staff.
