Senior Indigenous Health Educator

We are seeking an experienced Senior Indigenous Health Educator to join our team at The University of Queensland.
Role Description:- Implement Indigenous Health Education for the Doctor of Medicine program within the Rural Clinical School, providing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leadership and expertise.
- Engage with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to develop and deliver culturally safe education initiatives.
- Support the recruitment and retention of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, promoting inclusivity and a sense of belonging.
This is a teaching-focused position that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver educational programs that address the health needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Collaborate with academic staff, clinicians, and community members to design and implement culturally sensitive education initiatives.
- Mentor and support Indigenous students, ensuring their success and progression through the MD program.
- Foster partnerships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organizations to enhance education and research opportunities.
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Indigenous health, education, or related field).
- Significant experience in Indigenous health education and community engagement.
- Proven track record of developing and delivering successful education initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Competitive salary: $78,871-$155,246 per annum, plus 17% superannuation.
