Job Title: Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Charterhouse Recruitment (Australia). As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and interpreting technical documentation, including detailed engineering drawings, risk assessments, and design specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create, modify, and review detailed mechanical drawings and designs using CAD software.
  • Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to develop design solutions that meet project specifications and objectives.
Technical Writing:
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, operating instructions, maintenance guides, and safety protocols.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documents.
  • Ensure all technical content is accurate, up-to-date, and consistent with the latest project developments.
Risk Assessment:
  • Conduct thorough reviews of technical drawings and designs to identify potential risks.
  • Perform technical risk assessments to evaluate the safety, reliability, and performance of mechanical systems and components.
  • Recommend design modifications or mitigation strategies to address identified risks.
  • Document and report on risk assessment findings to relevant stakeholders.
Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, project managers, and quality assurance personnel, to ensure alignment on technical requirements and documentation standards.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing feedback and suggestions based on risk assessment and technical analysis.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and other design tools.
  • Strong technical writing skills with experience in creating technical documentation.
  • Experience in conducting technical risk assessments and developing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex technical drawings and designs.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to mechanical design.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
