Local History Preservation Specialist

Are you passionate about sharing and preserving local history and heritage?
This role involves delivering projects and activities to increase understanding and profile of organisational and local history and heritage, providing accessible learning and interpretation opportunities for various audiences.
Main responsibilities include:
- Developing and delivering projects and activities to promote appreciation and understanding of local history and heritage.
- Creating digital and physical interpretations, such as signage, markers and walking tours.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and deliver resources and programs related to Glen Eira's First Nations history.
- Providing advice on talks, workshops, tours and events relating to local history and heritage preservation/conservation.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in history, heritage or a related field, with experience in managing historic material and writing about and sharing history with diverse audiences. Experience in coordinating projects and using Museum Collection Management System software is also desirable.
