About the Role

  • Maintain close collaboration with Senior Conservators and curators to ensure seamless communication and progress updates.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough examinations and write detailed condition reports for fashion and textiles items, providing valuable insights for future preservation and display.
  • Create bespoke treatment proposals tailored to each item's specific needs, ensuring safe and effective conservation methods.
  • Offer authoritative advice on preservation, display, storage, handling, and construction techniques for fashion and textiles items.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have completed a tertiary degree in conservation with significant experience in treating textiles or equivalent. A deep understanding of textile structure, history, technology, deterioration, and treatment is essential.
