Operations Support Officer Job Description

We are seeking an organized and effective Operations Support Officer to join our team in Melbourne. With over 20 years of experience, we have established ourselves as one of Victoria's leading civil contractors.

This role involves coordinating plant equipment and services across all our sites. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating plant equipment and services
  • Processing trucking requirements
  • Sourcing and allocating plant and contractors
  • Following up with clients and contractors to ensure timely delivery
  • Daily communication with internal stakeholders regarding operational requirements
  • Sourcing quotes and creating purchase orders
  • Maintaining equipment, cartage, and materials costs
  • Monitoring and reporting on expenditure against budget for each project
  • Coordinating mobilisation and demobilisation of compound amenities and required contractors

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Previous experience coordinating plant equipment and services, preferably within the civil construction sector
  • Effective planning and scheduling skills
  • High attention to detail and organisation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively
  • Problem solving skills and high level of initiative
  • Proficient PC skills
  • Experience using ERP and document management systems preferred but not essential
