Job Title: Facilities Plant and Equipment Specialist

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Facilities Plant and Equipment Specialist. This role provides engineering support and conducts activities related to short- and long-term infrastructure planning and capital improvement construction projects and maintenance operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering or a relevant technical field, with extensive knowledge of building codes, regulations, safety procedures, and the ability to determine non-conformance issues. Experience in maintenance and facilities within a manufacturing environment is also essential.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the development of conceptual engineering proposals and designs for new plant and equipment.
  • Identifying and reporting out on compliance gaps and developing rectification planning programs.
  • Managing the AutoCAD and compliance document file process systems to ensure correct storage of associated documentation.
  • Investigating engineering proposals for plant and equipment and ensuring an emphasis on quality, maintainability, reliability, and applicable configuration management policies.
  • Developing complex conceptual designs, final designs, cost estimates, and providing maintenance support for plant and equipment installations, utility systems, and grounds.
  • Facilitating improvements in asset effectiveness, availability, and maintainability; specifying configuration of new assets to support reliability programs through the asset life cycle.
  • Interpreting and analyzing regulations, standards, codes, and ordinances with respect to project requirements.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical field.
  • Experience in maintenance and facilities within a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of building codes, regulations, safety procedures, and the ability to determine non-conformance issues.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and drawing development.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex drawings and diagrams of plant and equipment.
  • Extensive knowledge in all aspects of repair and maintenance of plant and facilities utilities systems.
  • Experience in implementing and developing condition-based maintenance programs with knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Experience in project management, data analysis, planning, and forecasting using an asset management system.
  • Strong computer-based skills in Microsoft Office products.
