Job Overview

Muswellbrook Shire Council is a progressive local government area seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Advisor to provide strategic advice and guidance on industrial and employment matters.

The successful candidate will work closely with Council leaders to achieve the Workforce Management Plan, project lead initiatives, and increase the efficiency of HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice, coaching, and early intervention on staff concerns ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Work towards achieving the Workforce Management Plan and project leading workplace change processes.
  • Ensure continuous improvement by regularly reviewing current practices and providing management with recommendations based on analysis interpretation and HR industry trends and best practice.
  • Develop review and implement policies procedures and other documents that support best practice Human Resource management at Council.

Requirements

  • Degree in Human Resources or similar.
  • 5 years of experience in a Human Resource role.
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiation mediation problem-solving and communication.

A permanent role offering flexibility with a minimum of 28 hours per week and the option to work full-time (35 hours). The successful candidate will be part of driving change to create a bright and prosperous future for our community.
