At Taylor Thomson Whitting, we are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Drafter to join our team in the Sydney office. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with one of Australia's leading professional engineering firms and be part of a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and communication.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Structural Drafter who can manage drafting on large projects autonomously and lead junior drafters within the project team. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in drafting, strong knowledge of Revit, and relevant TAFE qualifications or equivalent experience.

The successful candidate will also have a minimum of 2 years' local experience, a general understanding of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and relevant Australian Standards, and the ability to provide technical support to other drafters. Additionally, they will possess demonstrated project management skills to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to client requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage drafting on large projects autonomously and lead junior drafters within the project team
  • Assist Lead Engineers in preparing preliminary sketch designs from architectural drawings as required
  • Act as the first point of contact on projects and answer queries from others
  • Review work of other drafters, including drawings and transmittals, to ensure compliance with relevant standards and Quality Assurance procedures

Salary Estimate

The estimated salary for this role is between $120,000 and $180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
