Environmental Management Specialist

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to major capital works projects, including construction and environmental management. You will work closely with our team to ensure that all projects meet the highest environmental standards.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an Environmental Advisor to support our team in providing dedicated services to Hunter Water Corporation. This role involves working on complex infrastructure projects, including water and wastewater treatment plant upgrades, stormwater projects, renewables, and other civil construction.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementing and reviewing Environmental Management Plans
  • Supporting project environmental performance delivery
  • Ensuring timely and on-scope delivery of construction projects
  • Providing expert advice to our partners
  • Participating in planning and approval processes

As part of a multi-disciplinary project team, you'll have a mix of office-based and on-site work. Senior team members will provide guidance and support for your development in the environmental management advisory space.

About You

We're looking for someone with up to 3 years of experience as an environmental professional or in a support role on civil infrastructure projects. You're eager to take on increased responsibility, work on complex projects, and develop your skills in this area.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary education qualifications
  • A valid driver's license and ability to obtain a white card
  • Genuine interest in construction and environmental management
  • Developing knowledge of environmental legislation applicable to construction sites/projects
  • Some experience in planning, development, and environmental approvals would be beneficial
  • Effective teamwork practices
  • Ability to prepare reports and outputs for various audiences in plain English
  • Confidence in working with minimal supervision and interacting with others
