Closing the Gap Taskforce Coordinator

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our team as a Closing the Gap Taskforce Coordinator.
- We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead the coordination of community data projects in up to six locations across Australia.
The successful applicant will be responsible for assessing data requirements, working with analysts to source and extract data, and establishing agreements for secure data sharing. They will also support the Community Data Projects by working with internal and external stakeholders.
This role involves making strategic contributions to the Department's work on Priority Reform 4, requiring you to operate under broad direction and exercise independence.
About the RoleThe National Agreement sets out that data projects will be established in up to six locations across Australia. The Community Data Projects will enable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and communities to access locally relevant disaggregated data and information to set and monitor efforts to Close the Gap.
The Commonwealth plays a key coordinating role through the provision of secretariat functions. We have funded the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare to develop infrastructure to support secure portals and assist with secure data sharing protocols.
What You'll Need To SucceedTo be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian citizen. You will also need to undergo a pre-employment screening process, including an identity and criminal history background check. In addition, you must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance conducted by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.
You will need to provide detailed background information covering at least five years of employment, education, residential, and criminal history. Any gaps or periods spent overseas for 12 months or more that cannot be verified may render you ineligible for a security clearance.
