About the Position
  • Offer professional advice on matters related to foreign interference, dual-use technologies, Defence Trade Controls, and sanctions.
  • Collaborate with the UNSW National Security Team and Faculty of Engineering leadership to develop a University-wide approach to managing foreign risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on foreign partners to identify potential foreign interference and conflicts of interest.
  • Lead the rollout of educational materials and training to enhance awareness of foreign interference and compliance responsibilities within Engineering.
  • Work closely with HR, faculty leadership, and National Security Team leadership to manage sensitive conflict of interest and foreign affiliation issues.

Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification or equivalent level of knowledge gained through education, training, or experience.
  • A strong understanding of international relations, Australian foreign policy settings, and a solid grasp of sanctions, critical technologies, and University Foreign Interference Taskforce Guidelines.
  • The ability to work independently and build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
