About the Role:

This pivotal position plays a crucial part in supporting continued growth and success.

As Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing comprehensive, detailed, and competitive tenders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct high-quality estimating to meet stringent standards and deadlines
  • Engage with subcontractors and suppliers for tender negotiations and coordination
  • Manage the bid process, ensuring tenders are presented effectively
  • Collaborate with team members, subcontractors, and suppliers to identify opportunities for added value
  • Provide insights and advice on practical construction methods, including project methodologies and scheduling
  • Assess risks and opportunities to refine and improve estimates
  • Participate in pre- and post-tender negotiations to secure favorable outcomes
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to overcome challenges and improve processes
  • Build and maintain relationships within the industry to stay updated on market trends, pricing, and new entrants

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related field (desirable)
  • At least 5 years of civil estimating experience, particularly in Southeast Queensland
  • Expertise in first-principles estimating, especially for earthworks
  • Proficiency in using Pronamics Expert Estimation software
  • Ability to develop innovative solutions to outperform competitors
  • Strong team player committed to achieving corporate and client goals
  • Advanced skills in planning, reporting, and analysis
  • Expertise in relationship management, conflict resolution, and problem-solving
