Sr Horticultural Manager

">About the Role

The successful candidate will oversee key growing areas, managing plant health and production outcomes. They will work closely with the sales and management teams to maintain high standards across the site.

">Key Responsibilities
  • Grow Schedule Planning: Develop and implement schedules for various plant lines
  • Plant Care Strategies: Develop and implement watering, fertilising, irrigation and pest control strategies
  • Growing Conditions: Monitor and maintain optimal temperature, humidity, and light levels
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and address plant health issues promptly
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest horticultural techniques and trends
  • Crop Performance Tracking: Maintain accurate records of crop performance, treatments, and inputs
  • Performance Metrics Reporting: Report on KPIs such as stock readiness, loss rates, and crop cycles
  • Production Planning: Contribute to production planning with the nursery manager or owner
">Requirements
  • Certification: Certificate III, IV or Diploma in Horticulture or Production Nursery (or equivalent)
  • Industry Experience: Over 5 years industry experience
  • Knowledge and Skills: Excellent knowledge of plant biology and growth requirements
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities
