Emergency Medicine Specialist

This is an exceptional opportunity to become a part of a high-performing Emergency Medicine Department within a leading regional health service.

The department delivers 24/7 emergency care across a wide range of clinical presentations, including trauma, complex medical and surgical cases, paediatrics, and acute mental health.

As a key regional referral centre, it is supported by a multidisciplinary team of Emergency Physicians, Registrars, junior doctors, and nursing staff, with strong links to pre-hospital and specialist services.

Accredited by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM), the department fosters a strong culture of education, mentorship, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality, evidence-based emergency care across the full clinical spectrum
  • Managing patients independently, supervising junior staff, and contributing to education, clinical governance, and service improvement
  • Leading or participating in initiatives such as trauma system development, simulation training, digital health innovation, and rural outreach

Requirements:

  • Fellowship with ACEM (FACEM) and AHPRA Specialist Registration
  • SIMGs assessed by ACEM as Substantially Comparable / ACEM interview date confirmed
  • ACEM Advanced Trainees within six months of completing Fellowship

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical capability in emergency medicine, including trauma and procedural skills, critical care decision-making, and a commitment to education, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
