Senior Lawyer Role

As a Senior Lawyer, you will play a key role in supporting the legal team with expertise and leadership. Your skills will be instrumental in providing high-quality legal advice and guidance across various programs.

  • Provide expert legal guidance, oversee casework approval, KPI management, and workload distribution to ensure effective program delivery.
  • Mentor and supervise staff lawyers, utilizing complex matters as learning opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
  • Represent at stakeholder forums, legal partnerships, and networks.
  • Lead law reform and community legal engagement activities that promote our vision, mission, and values.
  • Promote compliance, manage legal risk, and foster a trauma-informed, culturally safe, and inclusive workplace environment.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Hold an unrestricted Practising Certificate and have relevant post-admission experience, including leading complex casework.
  • Be eligible for Blue and Yellow Cards and demonstrate experience supervising, mentoring, and developing legal staff.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with a positive, adaptable, and collaborative leadership style.
  • Be willing to travel within the region to support remote offices and outreach clinics.
