This role is for the ATSILS Toowoomba Office and seeks an experienced Criminal Law Legal Practitioner who is passionate about social justice and ready for extensive court work, including youth jurisdiction.About YouYou must be admitted as a Legal Practitioner in Queensland and hold (or be eligible for immediate acquisition of) a current Practising Certificate.You will demonstrate a high level of professional service in all aspects of Criminal Law, covering both adult and youth jurisdictions.A current Driver Licence and willingness to drive for work are essential.Ideally, you will have a minimum of two years\' full-time post-admission experience, resilience to handle complex cases, and the ability to develop culturally sensitive service skills.Key ResponsibilitiesManage your own workflows with a focus on delivering high-quality criminal law services without the pressure of billable-hours targets, in a family-friendly environment with flexible working hours.Provide criminal defence representation in a variety of courts, including youth jurisdiction, and advocate for clients with culturally sensitive service delivery.Engage in extensive court work as part of a large, community-focused practice.Take advantage of salary packaging and other benefits (including superannuation) and participate in the organisation's CPD facilities and Workforce Development Strategy to grow your skills.BenefitsSalary sacrifice opportunities.Supported learning and development.Salary packaging available to public beneficiary organisations.Competitive superannuation and additional benefits.Access to free CPD facilities and a self-paced Workforce Development Strategy.Selection CriteriaThere are six selection criteria in the Position Description for this role; a copy of the PD can be requested by emailing careers.atsils.org.au.How to ApplyRequests for the position description and submission of applications should be directed to careers.atsils.org.au.NotesInterviews will be conducted promptly and successful candidates may commence within seven weeks of interview.
