General Medicine Registrar Opportunity in Canberra

Charterhouse Medical is seeking a highly skilled General Medicine Registrar/Advanced Trainee to join our team in Canberra. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing acute, sub-acute, primary, and community-based health services.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and management of acute presentations to the emergency departments, in-patient care, and outpatient clinics.
- Conducting daily Structured Interdisciplinary Bedside Rounds (SIBR) and facilitating discharge planning and patient flow.
- Mentor and supervision of junior doctors, physician trainees, and resident medical officers in the unit.
- Opportunity to supervise and perform a variety of ward-based procedures, including lumbar puncture, abdominal paracentesis, pleurocentesis, and joint aspirations.
- Participating in the after-hours and on-call roster.
Our facility is a large, teaching hospital with over 650 beds, serving a population of over 550,000. We provide a wide range of services across more than 25 buildings, including acute inpatient and day services, outpatient services, women's and children's services, and pathology.
Eligibility- General, Provisional, or Limited registration with AHPRA or eligible to obtain.
- IMGs that have completed at least the AMC MCQ (part 1) or completed both AMC 1 & 2 (clinical exam).
- IMGs eligible via the Competent Authority Pathway (training in the UK, USA, NZ, Canada, or Ireland).
- IMGs assessed by RACP College as partially or substantially comparable.
