Occupational Rehabilitation Specialist

We are seeking individuals with a professional background in Psychology or Rehabilitation Counselling to fill the role of Occupational Rehabilitation Specialist.

This diverse position offers flexibility and autonomy to manage your own day, with the support of a strong team of driven and energetic healthcare professionals.

  • Case management with manageable caseloads and administrative support;
  • Applying clinical knowledge to improve return to work outcomes;
  • Working with employers and employees to develop and implement injury prevention and workplace education programs;
  • Collaborating with injured workers, employers, medical, and allied health professionals;
  • Working across various schemes such as workers compensation, compulsory third party, life insurance, Comcare, Department of Veteran's Affairs, and employer-funded injury prevention programs;
  • Assisting those with an injury or health condition to achieve return to health and return to work outcomes;
  • Completing assessments using clinical skills, including initial, workplace, and vocational assessments to review diagnosis, support treatment plans, address psychosocial barriers to employment, and identify suitable employment opportunities for workers who have sustained workplace injuries or injuries sustained from motor vehicle accidents.

Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Health Sciences, or Rehabilitation Counselling;
  • General or Provisional registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist or eligibility for Associate or Full membership with Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors (ASORC);
  • Previous experience working in Occupational Rehabilitation would be highly regarded;
  • Fabulous communication skills, with a focus on getting to know clients and stakeholders;
  • Compassion, kindness, empathy, well-developed time management skills, and a current driver's license.
