Job Opening: HR Generalist

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our team on a temporary maternity leave cover. As an HR Generalist, you will be responsible for the administration and coordination of all HR, recruiting, and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) activities.

This is a key role that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related field.
  • Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (desirable).
  • AHRI or affiliate professional membership desirable.
  • 5+ years experience in a generalist HR role.
  • Deep knowledge of HR practices, Fair Work Legislation, and employment obligations.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and software.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and maintain confidentiality. They will also be able to build relationships with employees at all levels and provide advice on HR processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administration and coordination of all HR activities including recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, training initiatives, payroll, employee retention, and separations.
  • Extensive recruitment experience including phone screening, interviewing, coordinating video and on-site interviews, coordinating candidates and recruitment process through the applicant tracking system.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and provide advice to employees on HR processes, procedures, policies, and general queries.
