Senior Financial Director

We seek an accomplished Senior Financial Director to lead the financial strategy of a rapidly expanding services organisation based in Newcastle. This role will drive performance and sustainable growth through effective financial management.

  • Lead the finance function across reporting, budgeting, compliance, and audit
  • Deliver timely and accurate forecasting, cash flow management, and commercial reporting
  • Provide financial leadership on contract negotiation, project risk, and capital expenditure
  • Manage financial strategy, funding models, and relationships with external stakeholders
  • Oversee project WIP, margin analysis, and cost controls to ensure profitability
  • Guide business systems development and financial process improvements
  • Play a key role in corporate development, including potential expansion initiatives
  • Embed strong financial governance, internal controls, and compliance frameworks
About You
  • Proven experience as Senior Finance Director or equivalent within a project-based industry (e.g., engineering, construction, mining, or infrastructure)
  • CA/CPA qualified with sound knowledge of commercial and contract law, financial compliance, and corporate finance
  • Strong understanding of project accounting, WIP, and revenue recognition in services or contracting environments
  • Commercially astute and strategic thinker with strong analytical capability
  • Highly collaborative leadership style and excellent stakeholder engagement skills
  • Comfortable leading in a growth phase with both strategic and operational demands
