About the Role

This role is an exciting opportunity to enhance risk management practices and uphold a strong risk culture within our department. You will support department leaders in this endeavour.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will collaborate with stakeholders to implement effective risk management strategies and provide coaching and training as needed.
  • Your primary focus will be on ensuring business operations align with frameworks, policies, standards, risk strategy, regulatory obligations, and risk appetite.
  • Identifying and assessing risks that may impact business objectives will be a key part of your responsibilities.
  • You will support the development of credible action plans to address control environment gaps.
  • Developing operational resilience for extreme scenarios affecting payments systems will also be a critical aspect of your role.
  • Implementing departmental risk frameworks for outsourced services will require your expertise.
  • You will log and manage issues and incidents in our Risk Management System.
  • Providing risk advice on operational risk incidents will be another essential duty.
  • Preparing reporting and analytics to track remediation of risk exposures will round out your responsibilities.
Requirements
  • You will need at least 7 years of relevant experience in operational risk and compliance, preferably in banking or finance.
  • Demonstrated risk management expertise and the ability to support stakeholder learning are essential.
  • Experience in designing and implementing risk frameworks and coaching is highly desirable.
  • A good understanding of enterprise-wide risk management frameworks is required.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in economics, finance, risk, or related fields, or equivalent experience, are necessary.
