Network Engineer Role

The organization seeks a highly skilled Network Engineer to join its team. This role plays a vital part in the design, implementation, and management of the network infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining network systems infrastructure. The selected candidate will also participate in incident response and security capabilities for network infrastructure.

Key performance indicators include producing high-quality designs, automation scripts, technical documentation, reports, and records regarding infrastructure solutions. The successful candidate will improve, harden, test, implement, monitor, and tune networking software/hardware to ensure optimal system performance.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and experience with network traffic analysis, providing recommendations on performance and security improvements. Occasional work at an alternate site may be required.

Requirements

  • Possession of a degree in IT or related field, along with industry-recognized certifications such as Cisco and ITIL.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco networking infrastructure, covering both LANs and WANs.
  • Experience with Firewalls (Cisco and/or Palo Alto) and applicable management tools.
  • Proficient in writing policies and procedures, and other support documentation.
  • Experience with Python and relevant scripting languages is desirable.
  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure and service management practices.
  • Knowledge of network management tools such as Cisco DNA Centre, Statseeker, and Infoblox is beneficial.
