About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Services Specialist to join our team at Anglicare Victoria. As a Family Services Specialist, you will work intensively with families at the point of crisis, providing short-term and intensive support to address immediate needs and develop a safety-focused plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with a small caseload of two families, providing up to 15 hours of face-to-face support per week.
  • Develop and implement a safety-focused plan with child protection and the family, addressing protective concerns and building on parental strengths.
  • Utilize a strengths-based approach, incorporating coaching and role modeling to increase levels of safety within the home.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated response to the family's needs.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a therapeutic environment, ideally utilizing recognized therapy practices such as CBT.
  • Knowledge and experience working with families with complex needs, mental health, AOD, and family violence.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build relationships and rapport with families using innovative approaches.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal hours to see families together and at home.
  • Ability to engage quickly and assess risk.
Qualifications
  • Professional experience and relevant qualification(s) in social work, psychology, or a related discipline is essential, diploma level qualifications are suitable with relevant experience.

  • Salary packaging is available up to $15,900 plus an entertainment card.
