Gender Equity and Family Violence Prevention Officer

This role is a key opportunity to drive gender equality and prevent family violence in our community. We are seeking a professional with expertise in social sciences, health promotion, community development or human resource management.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating health and wellbeing projects as well as diversity, equity and inclusion programs. A strong understanding of the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities is also highly desirable.

As a strategic thinker, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to embed a gender lens and intersectional approach across all areas of service delivery. Your ability to build trusting relationships and communicate effectively will be essential in influencing organisational outcomes.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive gender equity and inclusion strategies, programs and practices that promote a diverse, equitable and inclusive workforce.
  • Promote positive attitudes, behaviour and culture change at our organisation and within community programs and services to prevent family violence and all forms of violence against women.
  • Increase internal and community awareness and understanding of the drivers of family violence and all forms of violence against women, including prevention strategies.
  • Implement and test family violence prevention tools and guides and embed a whole-of-organisation approach to preventing family violence and all forms of violence against women.
