Supporting Individuals with Disabilities: A Rewarding Career Opportunity
Job Title: Disability Support WorkerWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to assist and support clients in achieving their goals through a person-centred approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting clients to complete and/or develop life-skills in household duties and yard/home maintenance;
- Transporting clients to appointments and/or shopping for and/or with client;
- Assisting clients in building client self-image and self-confidence;
- Assisting clients in social and community participation;
- Promoting independence and well-being;
- Assisting clients with personal care and manual handling;
- Medical administration (if qualified);
- Administration, e.g. daily journal reporting;
- Working within the NDIS guidelines and escalating relevant information to Team Leaders;
Requirements:
- A compassionate and empathetic demeanour;
- Strong listening and oral communication skills and patience;
- Strong relationship-building skills;
- The ability to maintain clear professional boundaries;
- A NDIS Worker Orientation Module (Quality, Safety and You) Certificate of Completion;
- NDIS Workers Screening Check;
- Valid Working with Children Check;
- A C class license, access to a reliable vehicle and comprehensive insurance;
